  • Emilia Clarke is Sarah Connor: For the upcoming Terminator reboot/sequel, Terminator: Genesis, Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke will take on the iconic role of Sarah Connor.  Game of Thrones/Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor is set to direct, Arnold is reprising his role as the T-800 and Jason Clarke is apparently in talks to play John Connor.
  • Naked Gun reboot in the works: Ed Helms will apparently step into the role of Frank Drebin in a reboot of the classic comedy series, The Naked Gun.  Leslie Nielsen made the role classic in the original.
  • Sony announces Venom and Sinister Six movies: Hot on the heels of the trailer last week, Sony announced that they are developing movies featuring Venom and the Sinister Six.  The Venom one makes sense because he had a solo title and can kind of be an anti-hero but I don’t know how a separate movie for the Sinister Six would work.  Kurtzman and Orci, Mark Webb and Drew Goddard are among a “brain trust” tasked with writing and producing the movies.
  • New Disney Channel movie follows villainous kids: Disney announced that they are producing a live action movie for Disney Channel called Descendants, that follows the children of iconic Disney heroes and villains going to a prep school together in a kingdom ruled by Beast and Belle.  It’s scheduled to debut sometime in 2015.
  • Don Cheadle confirmed for Avengers: Age of Ultron: Don Cheadle was confirmed to be reprising his role as James “Rhodey” Rhodes/War Machine/Iron Patriot for Avengers: Age of Ultron.  Marvel said that Rhodes has a “key role” in the movie, which will feature Ultron as the main villain.
  • The Rundown 2 may be in the works: Peter Berg, promoting his latest movie “Lone Survivor”, mentioned to Collider that he’s actively trying to get The Rundown 2 underway and is looking for a writer for the script.  He also said the Rock’s Beck would most likely be teamed with a new partner, not Sean William Scott.
  • Frank Grillo starring in The Purge 2: Grillo will be starring in the upcoming sequel to The Purge in an undisclosed role.  It’s not clear what the plot will be or if anyone from the first film will be returning, specifically Lena Headey.
  • Robert Knepper joining Arrow and Hunger Games in villain roles: Currently intimidating 40’s Los Angeles on Mob City, Robert Knepper will be joining Arrow later this season as The Clock King, William Tockman, a man who plots crimes with split second timing.  He’ll also be appearing in Mockingjay Part 1 as Antonius.
  • NBC making a Rosemary’s Baby miniseries: Having success with Hannibal and Dracula, NBC announced they are developing another reboot of a classic horror movie with Rosemary’s Baby.  The miniseries will be “based on the novel” that inspired the classic Roman Polanski film and follow a young couple in Paris who move into an apartment where the wife believes that the neighbors and her husband might have evil motives towards her baby. The miniseries will be four 1 hour episodes.
  • Director found for World War Z 2: The sequel to this year’s surprise hit will be directed by Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona, who directed last year’s Oscar nominated drama The Impossible and the Guillermo Del Toro produced, The Orphanage.
  • Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will be moved up:   With Fast & Furious 7 in flux, Fox has decided to move the Planet of the Apes sequel up a weekend to July 11, 2014, where Fast & Furious 7 was originally supposed to be released.
  • Jason Momoa in talks for Batman vs Superman: Momoa is apparently in talks for an undisclosed role in the massive sequel, joining Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.
