When your trailer begins with people literally sky diving with cars, you know the bar has been raised and, after the tragic loss of Paul Walker last year, it looks like the Fast & Furious team have rallied and are delivering the biggest, craziest entry yet to pay tribute. Following the events of Furious 6, Dom, Bryan and the rest of the team are now in the crosshairs of Ian Shaw (Jason Statham), brother of 6’s villain Owen, who takes out Han in Tokyo, allowing the series to finally catch up and move beyond Tokyo Drift. The rest of the team are now being hunted and it looks like they head to places like Dubai in their attempt to stop Shaw. The Rock returns as Hobbs along with Tyrese, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black (from Tokyo Drift) and the new cast members are the likes of Kurt Russell, Tony Jaa, Djimon Hounsou, Ronda Rousey and the Khaleesi’s right hand woman, Nathalie Emmanuel. Since Fast Five, this has been arguably the best action franchise currently going and I’m super psyched for this, despite it probably going to be a little awkward, when it arrives in April of next year. Check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
