  • Tom Ellis cast as Lucifer in Fox’s upcoming series: The series, based on Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series, will follow a bored Lucifer as he abandons his throne in Hell and goes to LA to help the police punish criminals.
  • Power Rangers short pulled from Internet: Joseph Kahn and Adi Shankar’s short film that blew up the Internet earlier in the week has been pulled due to a copyright infringement claim from Saban.  The original Rangers are also mixed on the gritty, violent take on their characters.
  • Lego Star Wars series coming to Disney XD: In the current Legossance, Disney XD is bring Lego Star Wars to the network later this year with the mini-series, Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales, that will re-tell the six Star Wars films totally from the perspective of R2-D2 and C-3PO, along with new events taking place after Return of the Jedi.
  • Meagan Good and more cast in Minority Report: Meagan Good, most recently seen in Anchorman 2 and the show Deception, will be one of the leads of the upcoming Minority Report series.  Stark Sands and Laura Regan will also co-star as Pre-Cogs with Li Jun Li is a CSI tech for Pre-Crime and Daniel London will reprise his role from the film as the slightly creepy Wally the Caretaker, who cares for the Pre-Cogs.
  • Third Robin Hood movie in development: There’s a Sony project, a Disney project and now Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way, is developing Robin Hood: Origins, a “gritty reinvention of the classic character”.
  • Former Superman and Supergirl guesting on CBS’ upcoming show: Dean Cain, the Superman of Lois and Clark, and Helen Slater, the original film Supergirl, will guest star on CBS’ upcoming Supergirl series, that is most likely in the same universe as Arrow and Flash.  Superman himself is rumored to appear in the pilot as a possible cameo.
  • Third DC show coming to CW: Spinning out of both Arrow and Flash, The CW announced a third show in the universe coming to the network that will feature Brandon Routh’s Atom, Victor Garber’s Dr. Marvin Stein, Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold and Caity Lotz, despite Sarah Lance’s current status in the universe making that slightly difficult.   The show will also feature “3 DC characters never before seen on TV”.
  • Blade Runner 2 gets a director, confirms Harrison Ford is back: Academy Award nominated director Dennis Villeneuve, previously of Prisoners and Incendies, will direct the upcoming sequel to Blade Runner and Harrison Ford will return in his iconic role of Rick Deckard. Ridley Scott had to drop out due to working on Prometheus 2 and other projects.
  • Ripley confirmed for Alien sequel, will disregard Alien 3 and Resurrection: Sigourney Weaver will return to Neill Blomkamp’s upcoming Alien sequel and the film will apparently follow Alien and Aliens and disregard Alien 3 and Resurrection.
  • Jessica Chastain joins The Huntsman: The prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman will feature Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as Eric, the titular Huntsman, who is sent on a quest to recover a magic mirror for Charlize Theron’s Ravenna.  Jessica Chastain joined the movie this week in an unspecified role and Emily Blunt was previously cast as Theron’s equally as evil sister.  Nick Frost will return as one of the Seven Dwarfs and it’s out in April 2016.
  • Netflix getting new Danger Mouse and Inspector Gadget cartoons: Danger Mouse will be out in the Spring and Inspector Gadget, actually a European series Netflix acquired the rights to, will be out in the next few weeks with 26 episodes.
  • Ducktales returning in 2017: Disney XD is getting a brand new Ducktales series in 2017.  The show will feature new adventures of Uncle Scrooge and his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie and Launchpad McQuack, Duckworth, Webigail, Mrs. Beakley, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell and Gyro Gearloose are all set to return as well.  There’s no word how many episodes the show will be and whether it will be CG or hand drawn.
  • Godzilla hotel opening in Japan: Hotel Gracery in Tokyo is creating a Godzilla themed room with various memorabilia and Godzilla decorations and the hotel will also have a giant Godzilla head on the roof and a theater sponsored by Toho.
  • Viola Davis is Amanda Waller in Suicide SquadDavis, currently starring on How to Get Away with Murder, confirmed she is going to play ARGUS head honcho, Amanda Waller, in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.
  • Batman: Arkham Knight is rated M: Things are getting brutal in Gotham as the third game in the Arkham series from Rocksteady has gotten an M rating for “violence, language, blood and suggestive themes”.
  • Ben Hardy joins X-Men: Apocalypse: The British actor best known for Eastenders has joined the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse in an unspecified role but the leading speculation is that he will possibly play Warren Worthington III aka Angel.
  • Kingsman’s Taron Egerton latest actor rumored for young Han Solo: One of the upcoming Star Wars spin-off movies is rumored to be a prequel following a young Han Solo and Kingsman star Taron Egerton is the latest person rumored to be in talks for the role.
  • Spain creating a Lord of the Rings park: It’s called La Comarca or The Shire and sounds not so much a theme park with tons of ride but more of a larger city park with Lord of the Rings/Hobbit theming.  The town of Rincon de la Victoria will spend 1.7 million Euros on the park.
  • Jack Huston in talks for The Crow: After Luke Evans left the project, the upcoming Crow reboot may have a new Eric Draven in Boardwalk Empire’s Jack Huston.  Corin Hardy, director of The Hallow, is set to direct.
  • Adventure Time movie in the works: Warner Bros is developing a movie version of Cartoon Network’s hit cartoon series, with Chris McKay and Roy Lee, producers on the Lego Movie, will produce the movie and show creator Pendelton Ward will also help write and produce the movie.
