Musical Montage: Fresh Prince & DJ Jazzy Jeff “A Nightmare on My Street”

Coming out in 1988 as the third single from the Fresh Prince/DJ Jazzy Jeff album “He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper”, A Nightmare on My Street was a Freddy Krueger themed rap from Will Smith that was considered for Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.  The song was ultimately not used for the film and, in fact, New Line ultimately sued the duo’s record label and an official Freddy themed music video was scrapped and the album had to have a label saying the single was not part of the soundtrack and not affiliated with the movie series.  Even though there is no official music video where we would have gotten the joy of possibly seeing Will Smith in a striped sweater or interacting with Robert Englund, you can still listen to the song below.
