  • Doug Liman directing Gambit movieThe director of The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow has signed to direct Channing Tatum in the upcoming Gambit movie.  Liman is also reteaming with Tom Cruise for the sci-fi heist movie, Luna Park.
  • Possible He-Man for reboot movieThere’s been talk of a new He-Man movie for a while and it seems like there might be a possible contender for He-Man as professional bodybuilder and former American Gladiator Mike O’Hearn put a picture up on Instagram that claims he’s preparing to play He-Man by taking off 30 pounds of lean muscle.
  • Snowpiercer becoming a TV showThe French graphic novel that was adapted into an excellent movie from Korean director Bong Joon-Ho is getting turned into a TV series from Tomorrow Studios, who have optioned the rights.
  • Netflix gets rights to next Bong Joon-Ho movieSpeaking of the Snowpiercer director, Netflix is financing and will exclusively stream his next movie, Okja, which features a young Korean girl who befriends a monster.  Jake Gyllenhaal, Tilda Swinton, Bill Nighy are starring.
  • Jem pulled from theaters after two weeksOne of the worst performing movies of all time, Universal has made an unprecedented move and pulled the movie completely from theaters after only two weeks.  The movie made less than $2 million and in it’s last weekend, only made $160 per theater.
  • Jeffrey Dean Morgan cast as Negan in The Walking DeadThe Losers and Watchmen star is playing the next Walking Dead big bad, Negan, who is the sadistic leader of a rival settlement in the comics.  Negan will appear sometime later this current season.
  • Shortlist for Baywatch female lead revealedWith The Rock and Zac Effron co-starring in the upcoming comedic reboot of Baywatch, the search for a female lead begins and some of the names possibly in talks are Alexandra Daddario, Ashley Benson, Nina Dobrev and Alexandra Shipp.
  • Netflix developing true crime show “Making a Murderer”Based on the success of shows like Serial and The Jinx, Netflix is developing a new original series that follows the real life crime story of Steve Avery, a man who was accused by exonerated for a brutal crime and he filed a lawsuit but then becomes the prime target of an even worse crime.  The series is on streaming December 18th.
  • Blindspot renewed for a second seasonBlindspot has been one of the most watched new shows of the fall and NBC has renewed the show for a second season.  The other show on NBC starring a Strike Back cast member, The Player, is on the brink of cancellation.
  • More cast members announced for John Wick 2Along with Common being the main villain, Ruby Rose, Riccardo Scamarico and Peter Stormare have joined the cast along with returning cast members John Leguizamo, Bridget Monahan, Tom Sadowski, Lance Reddick and Ian McShane.
  • Mariah Carey voicing mayor of Gotham in Lego BatmanOriginally reported as her voicing Commissioner Gordon, it was corrected later that Mariah Carey will co-star in the upcoming Lego Batman movie as the mayor of Gotham.
  • AMC picks up George Romero’s Empire of the DeadAMC is adding a third zombie show to it’s lineup with an adaptation of Empire of the Dead, a Marvel comic written by George Romero.  The comic is set in NYC after a zombie plague where there is also vampires and the human survivors have to deal with both.
