Kicking off everything Chipmunks related (including this past weekend’s CG abomination) was 1958’s novelty Christmas song “The Chipmunks Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)”. Created by Ross Bagdasarian Sr., Bagdararian Sr., who had previously found novelty song fame with Witch Doctor, performed under the name Dave Seville, he brought back his alter ego as the manager/adopted father of this new group, The Chipmunks, and he performed all the parts, with Alvin, Simon and Theodore sped up versions of his normal voice. The song was a ridiculous success, hitting number one on the charts and winning three Grammy awards and spawned all the future Chipmunks songs, movies, cartoons, etc. Check out the song below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
