Completing the trilogy, The Purge: Election Year arrives on July 4th weekend with another insanely violent night of government sponsored mayhem. Frank Grillo, thankfully, returns from The Purge: Anarchy (which was a masssive, massive improvement over the original movie) as Leo Barnes and is now the head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), who is running for president on a platform to ban the Purge once and for all. The New Founding Fathers are having none of this and compromise her security setup during The Purge, forcing her and Leo to once again head onto the street and try to survive the rampaging hordes. It looks like it’s thankfully keeping Anarchy’s style and tone and Election Year almost seems like Olympus Has Fallen but with lunatics instead of terrorists. Check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
