Jaume Collet-Sera has worked with Liam Neeson for the better movies in his action movie canon, including Run All Night and Non-Stop, but now he’s directing Blake Lively’s battle with a shark in this summer’s The Shallows. Lively plays a surfer named Nancy who is riding the waves on a secluded beach when she is attacked by a massive great white shark and left stranded a short distance from shore. Despite the short distance, the shark is stalking her and she has to figure out a way to either get help or get to shore. It looks similar to movies like Open Water, 127 Hours or Buried from Lively’s hubby Ryan Reynolds and I’m always a fan of “trapped in one location” movies like that. The movie arrives on June 24th and you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
