Ratchet & Clank seemed like it was unfortunately strike one in the attempt to make a great video game based movie but there’s still possibly Warcraft this summer and now we have the trailer for this December’s Assassin’s Creed movie.  Starring Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch, a criminal who is taken by the Abstergo Coroporation following his apparent execution and told they need him to relive the memories of his ancestor Aguilar, an assassin in the 15th century during the Spanish Inquistion. Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Michael Kenneth Williams, Ariane Labed, Brendan Gleeson co-star and Fassbender and Cotillard’s Macbeth director Justin Kurzel is directing.  It definitely seems like it has the look and feel of the games, with what looks like plenty of parkour and stabbing action and even the swan dive into hay at the end of the trailer.  The biggest change, I believe, is that the Animus is now some sort of full motion rig that allows Callum to duplicate the moves of Aguilar, presumably training him so Abstergo can use him against the Templars.  The movie is out on December 21st and you can check out the trailer below.
