  • He-Man/Thundercats crossover comic coming soon: The two 80’s titans will meet in an upcoming 6 issue miniseries from DC comics.  The story finds Mumm-Ra searching alternate universes for a weapon to defeat Lion-O’s Sword of Omens and discovers Eternia and He-Man’s Power Sword.
  • Saw: Legacy may start shooting this fall: The eighth movie in the Saw series was seen on a listing on a union website from Toronto as starting production in September.  It’s not clear if it’s a reboot or continuation from The Final Chapter.
  • Kiefer Sutherland in talks to join the Flatliners remake: Sutherland, who starred in the 1990 original, is in talks to appear in the upcoming reboot, which will star Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons and follows the original’s plot of medical students intentionally stopping each other’s hearts to explore what happens during near death experiences.
  • JCVD joins the Kickboxer sequel: Even though we haven’t really seen anything from Kickboxer: Vengeance, the sequel is already gearing up, which is Kickboxer: Retaliation.  JCVD recently signed on to appear in the sequel in his role as the mentor to Alain Moussi’s Kurt Slone.  Retaliation seems to be sending Sloane to prison where he’ll meet the likes of Mike Tyson and The Mountain from Game of Thrones.
  • Tomb Raider reboot gets a release date: The new Tomb Raider movie starring Alicia Vikander is arriving on March 16th, 2018, which was possibly going to be The Flash movie’s release date.  The movie will be based on the recent video game series where a younger Lara learned how to survive and fight while stranded on a mysterious island.
  • Game of Thrones Season 7 delayed due to weather: Because Winter is Here in Westeros, the production of Game of Thrones has been delayed until more appropriate weather arrives, so the release date of the season will be pushed back next year as well.
  • TNT and TBS renew shows: TNT renewed Animal Kingdom and TBS renewed Wrecked for a second season and Angie Tribeca(!) for a third season.
  • The Warriors getting rebooted on Hulu: The Russo Brothers, who have brought us two of the greatest movies in the MCU, are producing and directing the pilot for a reboot of the 1979 classic The Warriors for Hulu.  There’s not many other details like if it will still be set in the 70’s or a modern take and how many episodes it will be.  The cult classic PS2 game based on the movie also got released for PS4 this week on the PS Store as well.
  • The CW signs a new deal with Netflix: An unprecedented deal was signed between The CW and Netflix recently that will bring new seasons of CW shows like Arrow, Flash and iZombie to Netflix 8 days after the season finale airs on the network and Netflix will be the exclusive home for all back seasons of the shows.
  • A version of Ghost Rider may appear on Agents of SHIELD: Rumors were flying around a few weeks ago when a bus painted up for SDCC with Agents of SHIELD promo art seemed to have Ghost Rider’s flaming chains on it but it was dismissed as probably being more likely tied to the character Hellfire, who was introduced on last season as an evil Inhuman.  Now though, it seems like a version of Ghost Rider may appear on the show after all.  There was a casting notice that the show was looking to cast Latino brothers, one who is “the most dangerous person in the room” and the other “paralyzed in a wheelchair”, which seems to be describing the Reyes brothers from All-New Ghost Rider, introduced during the Marvel Now relaunches in 2014.  Robbie Reyes became Ghost Rider when he drives a cursed Dodge Charger, which becomes his Hell-Charger and he has all the abilities of past Ghost Riders.
