Things have apparently gone pretty bad in the Transformers universe since the end of Age of Extinction, with a full on war between humanity and the Transformers, some sort of worldwide governmental collapse, annoying groups of kids running around unsupervised and Optimus Prime finding his makers in space, either willingly or because of reprogramming, agrees to clear any resistance on Earth so that the planet can be destroyed and Cybertron can be reborn, possibly through Unicron, which is most likely the giant mechanical thing that is scraping the moon and landing various pieces on Earth. The salvation to stop Prime and Earth destruction seems to have something to do with an ancient medieval artifact from King Arthur, who had a squad of Cybertronian knights with him in Camelot, and Cade Yaeger (Mark Wahlberg) leads a group to find it and use it. Anthony Hopkins, Laura Haddock, Stanley Tucci, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro and Isabella Moner co-star with Michael Bay back to direct. Transformers trailers are always expertly cut (well except for that horrible Kids Choice Awards trailer for Last Knight) so that it seems like, maybe this time, it will be awesome and not brain meltingly terrible but we’ll have to wait and see where The Last Knight lands on June 23rd. Check out the new trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
