Steven Soderbergh took a “sabbatical” from directing films after 2013’s Side Effects, focusing on shows like The Knick and the adaptation of his movie The Girlfriend Experience for Starz but he’s back in seemingly classic form for the new heist movie Logan Lucky. Starring Channing Tatum and Adam Driver as a couple of dim-witted brothers, they come up with a scheme to rob the take of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and enlist the help of incarcerated demolitions expert Joe Bang (Daniel Craig). The brothers also get help from their sister, played by Riley Keough, and Hilary Swank, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Gleeson and Jim O’Heir co-star as well. It looks more like a Coen Brothers movie than the Ocean’s films but it looks great and hilarious, especially blonde, redneck Daniel Craig. The move is out on August 18th and you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
