Following up the well received soft reboot Curse of Chucky, everyone’s favorite killer doll is back for more mayhem in Cult of Chucky. Series creator Don Mancini directs as Cult of Chucky picks up four years after the events of Curse, with that movie’s final girl Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) being committed to a mental institution as it’s believed she’s the one who murdered her family. In possibly the worst decision in medical history, her psychiatrist brings in a Chucky doll as a therapeutic tool to convince her everything was in her head but, of course, it’s the real Chucky (Brad Dourif) and he starts murdering the staff and other patients. Fortuantely, Nica gets help from original hero Andy (Alex Vincent) but he also has to deal with Chucky’s former wife, Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly). It looks like it’s definitely continuing the return to horror that Curse brought to the series and the movie hits Blu-Ray and DVD on October 3rd. Check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
