Coming this Christmas, The Rock, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black are heading into the dangerous jungle world of Jumanji for a sequel to the Robin Williams classic, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Updating the board game from the original, Jumanji is now an old video game that 4 high school kids discover while serving detention cleaning out their school’s basement and they are sucked in and placed in the bodies of the avatars they chose, who are the 4 aforementioned actors. It seems like the humorous twist is going to be that the kids retain their personalities, so Jack Black acts like a selfie obsessed teen girl and The Rock is a nervous band geek. I’m not sure if the movie taking place entirely in the jungle world is an improvement, as most of the fun of the original movie was seeing the jungle slowly invade suburbia but it seems like it could be a decently fun adventure movie, even without the tie-in to Jumanji. The movie is out on December 22ns and you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
