Netflix Gets Cyberpunk in 2018 with Altered Carbon (Trailer)

Netflix is only diving deeper in making original series and movies in 2018, with one of their most ambitious looking shows arriving in February of next year, Altered Carbon.  Based on the novel by Richard Morgan, Altered Carbon is set in a cyberpunk, Blade Runneresque future where the human mind can be downloaded into new bodies called “sleeves” making death a thing of the past.  Incarcerated soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman) is downloaded into the body of a disgraced cop to look into the death of millionaire Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), whose last mind backup doesn’t have the info on who killed him or why.  Dichen Lachman, Byron Mann, Hiro Kanagawa, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Leonardo Nam co-star and, at least the first episode, was directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who gave us the Battle of the Bastards on Game of Thrones.  The series will be 10 episodes for the first season and begins on February 2nd, check out the trailer below.
