Spike Lee Takes on the KKK in BlackkKlansman (Trailer)

Debuting at the Cannes Film Festival to standing ovation and massive praise on social media, the latest Spike Lee joint tells the true story of African-American Colorado Springs detective Ron Stalloworth (played by John David Washington), who managed to infiltrate the KKK in the 70s.  Doing most of his undercover work via mail or over the phone, for obvious reasons, Stallworth had a white partner, Flip Zimmerman (played by Adam Driver), who would attend meetings in person as Stallworth and together they managed to stop numerous cross burnings and other hate crimes in the region.  Stallworth got so deep and respected by the KKK that he even frequently chatted with Grand Wizard David Duke (played by Topher Grace).  Jordan Peele is one of the producers on the movie and Lee seems to have put a fun Blaxploitation filter over everything while still treating everything seriously.  The movie is out on August 10th and you can check out the trailer below.
