Hacker vigilante Lisbeth Salander is back for an adaptation of the fourth book in the Millenium series, The Girl in the Spider’s Web. Claire Foy, of The Crown, takes over for Rooney Mara as Lisbeth, who finds herself up against someone from her past and targeted by the NSA and there’s a mess of spies, cyber criminals and corrupt government officials as well. Swedish actor Sverrir Gudnason takes over for Daniel Craig as investigative reporter Mikael Blomkvist and Blade Runner 2049 stand-out Sylvia Hoeks co-stars as well. The most exciting news though is probably the fact that this is the latest movie from Fede Alvarez, who previously directed the Evil Dead remake and Don’t Breathe, both excellent, brutal horror thrillers and Spider’s Web seems like it will maintain that style. It is being pitched as a sequel to David Fincher’s version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, so it may not hurt to brush up on that before this one hits on November 9th. I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
