Considered by many to be Eminem’s best song, “Lose Yourself” was the main single from his semi-autobiographical movie 8 Mile. In the movie, Eminem plays B-Rabbit, a blue-collar worker in Detroit who is dealing with family issues while also trying to become a rapper, entering rap battles and trying to score a record deal. “Lose Yourself” was a massive success, although it debuted at #43 on the Billboard Hot 100, it moved up to #1 and remained there for 12 weeks. It also won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and was certified Diamond and was included on both AFI’s 100 Years…100 Songs list at #93 and Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list. The music video features lots of scenes from the movie but it also mixes the fictional drama of B-Rabbit with real-life drama from Eminem’s life. Check it out below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
