Number Five reconnects with the Rumor for some assistance in sneaking into the Perseus Corporation, to ensure some investments are being put to good use. Up in deep space, known as Afterspace, Spaceboy and the Kraken are traveling with Doctor Zoo to explore the many secrets of the universe. But the group discovers a lost spaceship that Spaceboy easily recognizes. Back in Mexico, the Séance leads a biker gang to the location of a buried fortune in the desert. But their plundering gets interrupted when someone else comes to steal from the thieves.
Issue three continues the storylines of Number Five’s investigation on Perseus Corporation. Having visited the building once and noted areas of infiltration, he turns to the Rumor to help him gain access. In exchange for her help, she makes a deal with Number Five for a personal job. Number Five exhausted a few options setting up his operation on the Perseus building, and there are not too many people he can easily trust. The Rumor is one of the few people he can depend on, but the agreement isn’t without some bricking. Back in space, Spaceboy and the Kraken butt heads once over Hargreeves parenting, something the two will always disagree over. While Spaceboy is always grateful for Hargreeves saving his life, the Kraken can’t forgive the lies. Meanwhile, The Séance is caught in a messy situation where normally with his teammates around, this wouldn’t have to happen. Through bad luck or mischievous planning, the Séance manages to find a way around trouble.
Gerard Way slowly brings The Umbrella Academy members back to deal with a growing threat to the world. But with each member dealing with their own problems at the moment, it seems that they don’t have time to have a big reunion. The catalyst to gather the team hasn’t sprung up yet, and it’s only a matter of time before the past can be forgiven or the fractured group drifts further apart.
