It’s been almost ten years since the last time the Toy Story gang was on the big screen (with some delightful TV specials in the meantime) but the gang is back in June for the fourth entry in the series. Now firmly at home with the adorable Bonnie, Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen) and the rest of the gang are accompanying Bonnie on a summer road trip with a new member of the group, Forky (Tony Hale), an arts and crafts project that Bonnie made at school out of a spork. Forky is unable to deal with his newfound sentience and toy status and he flees Bonnie’s family RV, with Woody chasing after. While trying to find and get Forky back to Bonnie, Woody is reunited with his lost love Bo Beep (Annie Potts), who has taken up residence in an antique store and is tempted by her new life in small town. Keanu Reeves also joins the cast as an Evel Kneivelesque motorcyclist, Duke Caboom, and Key and Peele are voicing carnival stuff animals. The rest of the Toy Story voice cast is back as well including John Ratzenberger, Wallace Shawn, Joan Cusack, Timothy Dalton, Bonnie Hunt, and Kristen Schaal. Forky’s entire existence raises some seriously disturbing questions about the nature of the Toy Story universe but, besides that, this seems like another delightful romp with some old friends. The movie is out on June 21st and you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
