Musical Montage: 21 Savage, Offset and Metro Boomin “Ric Flair Drip”

A gigantic Spotify and Billboard hit from 2017 and going into 2018, the collaboration between 21 Savage, Offset from Migos and producer Metro Boomin channeled The Nature Boy for “Ric Flair Drip”.  Depending on who you trust on Urban Dictionary, “Ric Flair Drip” either means dressing in the ridiculously flamboyent style of peak Ric Flair, the shudder you get after snorting cocaine or dripping sweat during sex but it seems like mostly just a catchphrase and an excuse to go “woo!” at various points during the song.  Ric Flair himself shows up in the music video and seems to fit right in with the ridiculous hip-hop lifestyle on-display and Offset’s fellow band members Quavo and Takeoff appear as well.  The song garnered over 500,000,000 streams on Spotify and hit #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 when it was released as the lead single off the “Without Warning” album.  Check out the music video below.
