Chadwick Boseman is reteaming with his Avengers: Infinity War directors for a more grounded and kind of old school looking action movie, 21 Bridges. Boseman plays a disgraced NYPD detective who is given a shot at redemption when he’s brought in to track down the people responsible for killing 8 cops during a robbery. He orders the entire island of Manhattan shut down and then goes to work hunting the fugitives, which includes Taylor Kitsch and Stephan James. Sienna Miller, Keith David, and JK Simmons co-star and while The Russo Brothers are producing the movie, it’s actually directed by Brian Kirk, who’s directed for shows like Game of Thrones, Dexter, Penny Dreadful and Luther. The Russos have said they were inspired by 70s movies but it also feels kind of like 90s action like The Fugitive or The Negotiator. It’s out on July 12th and you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
