Combining their strengths, this fearsome foursome will push out the evil threat from Riverdale before the town falls into darkness.
This first issue has a great introduction to four fan-favorite characters, teaming up for a thrilling horror story. Amy Chu brings two mighty huntresses that have to blend with the sprightly citizens of Riverdale. They are aided by Betty and Veronica, who were following their own hunch on the strange sightings. Chu’s structure of the comic has a The New Scooby-Doo Movies vibe, where the characters and settings are playfully mixed and pays fan homage. It’s hilarious to see the She-Devil of Hykrania and a superhuman vampire disguised themselves as high schoolers, while Betty and Veronica do their best to keep up the act. Maria Sanapo’s artwork has great character expressions that really show funny confusing stares and shocked looks. Comic fans that are familiar with any of the titular characters can easily pick up and enjoy this series.
