The Banana Splits were a group of costumed creatures created by Sid and Marty Kroft back in 1968 and now the Banana Splits gang is back but time has apparently turned them evil and bloodthirsty. In this reboot movie from SyFy and Warner Brothers, Dani Kind plays Beth, who gets tickets for her whole family to a taping of The Banana Splits show for her son Harley’s (Finlay Wojtak-Hissong) birthday. Rebecca (Sara Canning), a producer on the show, is just trying to get through another work day when she’s informed the show has been canceled, which seems to cause the animatronic Banana Splits characters to go haywire and start going on a murderous rampage. The movie has been rated R for violence and gore, so they seem to be going whole hog into turning the beloved children’s characters into murderous monsters while also trying to get in on some of the Five Nights at Freddy’s popularity. The movie will debut on SyFy sometime later this year with a DVD/Blu-Ray release soon after. Check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
