Brad Pitt is heading to space to try and find his long-lost father, played by Tommy Lee Jones, in the upcoming sci-fi thriller Ad Astra. Pitt plays Roy McBride, an astronaut who is sent on a mission across the solar system to find his missing father, who was presumed dead after disappearing during a mission years earlier. New evidence emerges that not only may Roy’s father be alive, but he may also be responsible for a cataclysmic event that is threatening to wipe out life on Earth. Roy travels to the Moon, Mars and beyond and it all looks like it’s going to be incredible on the big screen. There are shades of 2001, Interstellar and possibly some Apocalypse Now/Heart of Darkness going on. Along with Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones, Liv Tyler, Ruth Negga and Donald Sutherland co-star and it’s directed by James Gray, who most recently directed The Lost City of Z with Charlie Hunnam and Robert Pattinson. Ad Astra is out on September 20th and you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
