Arguably the most beloved character in the Star Trek canon is finally returning as Patrick Stewart stars in the upcoming CBS All Access series, Star Trek: Picard. In retirement for 20 years, Jean-Luc Picard encounters a young woman who is in danger and he gathers a new crew of misfits and heads into space to help. Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan, Martina Sirtis, and Jonathan Frakes are also returning as Data, Seven of Nine, Deanna Troi and William Riker respectively and Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Alison Pill, and Harry Treadway are co-starring as well. It seems like Picard’s old nemesis, The Borg, are playing a factor in the plot and it surprisingly feels much more action-packed than I think most everyone was expecting from a show featuring the 79-year-old Stewart (although to be fair, it doesn’t seem like he’s going to be the one getting in fistfights or shootouts). Alex Kurtzman and Akiva Goldsman are overseeing the show and it will premiere early next year. Check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
