A24 and director Robert Eggers are putting Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe through the wringer in the upcoming horror/dark comedy/drama, The Lighthouse. Eggers’ follow-up to The Witch, Pattinson and Dafoe are lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious island off New England in 1890. Dafoe’s former partner went mad and Pattinson is the new replacement and the two men slowly begin to lose it as well as the isolation gets to them. It’s shot in a 1.19:1 aspect ratio with vintage lenses from the 30s and a custom-built filter to give the appearance of early photography of the 19th century and it definitely looks unique and interesting. The movie is out on October 18th and you can check out the new trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
