Two different kinds of horror anthology shows are coming this October with Season 2 of Hulu’s Castle Rock and the reboot of Are You Afraid of the Dark on Nickelodeon.
Castle Rock Season 2 stars Lizzy Caplan as a younger, but still quietly psychotic, Annie Wilkes (of Misery fame) who ends up waylaid in Castle Rock with her daughter and ends up caught in a feud between warring families, one of which is led by King vet Tim Robbins. Elsie Fisher, Barkhad Abdi, and Matthew Allen co-star and the series begins on October 23rd.
Meanwhile, over on Nick, Are You Afraid of the Dark? is back for a three-episode mini-series beginning on October 11th with “The Tale of the Carnival of Doom”. The twist this time around is that the Midnight Society has to face their own creepy tale when the story told around the campfire becomes a reality. Jeremy Ray Taylor, who played young Ben in the IT movies, is one of the co-stars and it definitely looks like a huge step up style and budget-wise from the original, which was still great but was also absurdly cheap looking at times thanks to its limited budget.
Are you excited for either of these new shows? Let us know!
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
