Musical Montage: Birds of Prey

Much like Suicide Squad before it, one of the major ways that this coming weekend’s Birds of Prey has been promoted is via its soundtrack.  Leaning completely toward female rappers and singers like Normani, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Saweetie, Galxara, Halsey and Charlotte Lawrence, Atlantic Records released a new single every Friday with a music video for all of January, with the full album being available this Friday with the movie.  Megan Thee Stallion and Normani had “Diamonds”, Doja Cat had “Boss Bitch”, Saweetie and Galxara had “Sway with Me” (which co-starred Birds of Prey’s Ella Jay Basco) and Charlotte Lawrence had “Joke’s On You”.  Co-star Jurnee Smollett-Bell also contributed a cover of “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World” as Black Canary.  Check out all the singles released so far below and check out Birds of Prey this Friday.
