Black Widow is officially kicking off Phase 4 of the MCU but we’re heading back to the recent past, post-Civil War pre-Infinity War, as Natasha (Scarlett Johansson) has to face a new threat that is a twisted version of her origin. Nat learns that the villainous Taskmaster has taken control of the Red Room, the training facility that created Black Widows. Taskmaster has created an army of brainwashed Black Widow assassins and Nat has to team up with her “sister” Yelena (Florence Pugh), her “mother” Melina (Rachel Weisz) and her “father”(?) Alexei (David Harbour), aka the super-soldier Red Guardian. William Hurt is back as Thaddeus Ross and Robert Downey Jr is supposed to appear as well, considering this movie takes place in the past of the MCU. It looks cool, with maybe more of a Mission: Impossible vibe than other MCU movies and it seems like they are hopefully giving Taskmaster the justice he deserves as one of the coolest Marvel villains/anti-heroes. The movie arrives on May 1st and you can check out the final trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
