Henry Golding Becomes Snake Eyes in July (Trailer)

GI Joe has been in hibernation since 2013’s GI Joe: Retaliation but Hasbro/Paramount are hoping they can reboot the series in a big way with this July’s Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins.  Henry Golding stars as arguably GI Joe’s most popular character, Snake Eyes, who is a street fighter that works in a fish processing plant.  When he saves the life of Tommy aka Storm Shadow (Andrew Koji), the pair return to the home of Tommy’s ninja clan, the Arashikage, and Snake Eyes begins training in the ways of ninjutsu.  The Arashikage becomes drawn into the conflict between two secretive organizations, GI Joe and Cobra, and Snake Eyes is forced to choose sides.  Ursula Corbero plays Baroness while Samara Weaving plays Scarlett with Haruka Abe, Takehiro Hira, Iko Uwais, and Peter Mensah co-starring.  The movie is directed by Robert Schwentke, who previously directed RIPD and Red, so a bit of a mixed bag, but the action here looks pretty fantastic and we would love nothing more for this to be a kick-ass GI Joe movie that sets the table for a series of movies.  Snake Eyes is out on July 23rd and you can check out the trailer below.
