Following the defeat of Thanos in Endgame, Thor has apparently decided to go on a journey of self-discovery and chill vibes in Thor: Love and Thunder, arriving in July this year. Taika Waititi is back behind the camera (and voicing Thor’s BFF Korg) as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) gets back into shape, hangs out with the Guardians of the Galaxy (Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn), becomes some sort of swashbuckling space pirate, visits the Greek gods (including Russell Crowe as Zeus) and more. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) is trying to grow and govern New Asgard and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is wielding Mjolnir and has become Thor herself. The trailer’s tone is goofy and fun but there is a villain, and potentially brutal one, with Christian Bale playing Gorr the God Killer, who is not seen or hinted at yet. It definitely seems like Love and Thunder is taking the tone of Ragnorak and just cranking things up even more and it looks like an absolute blast. Check out the first trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
