Return to Pandora in December with Avatar: The Way of Water (Trailer)

13 years and a Disney theme park (or section of a park) later, James Cameron is finally bringing audiences back to Pandora with Avatar: The Way of Water.  Getting 8 different release dates as delays due to production and the pandemic pushed it further back, The Way of Water is set for December 16th this year and picks up the story a decade after the events of the original Avatar.  Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) have raised a family and live among their tribe of Na’vi along the oceans of Pandora, developing a new relationship with the aquatic life that live along and under the sea.  When the threat RDA returns to threaten Pandora, Jake has to rally the Na’vi to battle again.  Michelle Yeoh, Oona Chaplin, Kate Winslet, Giovanni Ribisi, Sigourney Weaver, Jermaine Clement, Stephen Lang, Edie Falco, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, and CCH Pounder co-star.  This first trailer is pretty much just visuals and it’s not clear if those visuals, stunning as they may be, will be enough to come close to the box office success of the original movie, which is the highest grossing film of all time worldwide.  Check out the trailer below.
