Musical Montage: Cee Lo Green & Jack Black “Kung Fu Fighting”
Originally released in 1974 by Carl Douglas, Cee Lo Green and Jack Black teamed up in 2008 for a partially rewritten cover of “Kung Fu Fighting” for the first Kung Fu Panda movie. The original song came out right at the crest of the Bruce Lee/kung fu movie craze and became a massive hit and one of the biggest-selling singles of all time. Cee Lo and Jack Black’s version came out alongside the first Kung Fu Panda movie and played over the end credits, although in some regions Korean pop star Rain performed the end credits song. “Kung Fu Fighting” made an appearance on the Kung Fu Panda 3 soundtrack, performed by The Vamps.
