Musical Montage: JC Chasez “Blowin’ Me Up (With Her Love)”

2002’s Drumline is full of music, given its focus on college marching bands but amongst all the sick drumming on the soundtrack was “Blowin’ Me Up (With Her Love)” by JC Chasez.  While *NSYNC was on hiatus, Chasez worked with producer Dallas Austin, who was working on songs for the Drumline soundtrack.  Austin convinced Chasez to sing “Blowin’ Me Up (With Her Love)” and to work on a solo album.  Chasez’s Schizophrenic came out two years later in 2004 and featured “Blowin’ Me Up (With Her Love)” as a bonus track, although the album was given minimal promotion and didn’t have a lot of commercial success.  “Blowin’ Me Up (With Her Love)” was the most successful single from the Drumline soundtrack album, hitting #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and staying on the charts for 17 weeks.  While featuring a drumline band, the music video is set in what seems like a post-apocalyptic world full of wrecked cars, monster trucks and drag races, and co-stars Tara Reid as Chasez’s love interest.  Check it out below.
