Up to Speed: House of the Dragon Season 2

After two years, season 2 of House of the Dragon finally brings the Dance of the Dragons back to HBO/Max, and you can catch up on the events of Season 1 in this Up to Speed.  200 years before Game of Thrones, the Targaryens conquered and united the Seven Kingdoms, but conflict arose after the death of King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine) about who would truly rule the kingdom.  The “Blacks” support Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy), who was publically declared Viserys’ successor in a ceremony when she was a girl, while the “Greens” support Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and her son King Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney), who Alicent believes Viserys declared his true successor on his deathbed.  While the civil war started to boil in the first season, things will only worsen in Season 2 as both sides draw their allies (and dragons) and battle for control of the realm.  Like its predecessor, Game of Thrones, lots of things happened in Season 1, and HBO/Max put out a fairly lengthy recap video to refresh on what happened, which you can check out below.  House of the Dragon is back on Sunday on Max/HBO.
