Bryan Ferry contributed “Kiss and Tell” to the soundtrack for 1988’s Bright Lights, Big City, which featured a darker and more serious turn for Michael J Fox as he played a fact-checker at a big magazine in New York City that spirals into drug and alcohol abuse after a number of personal and professional setbacks, including the death of his mother to cancer.
Although it was used in early promos and even got a music video composed entirely of scenes from the film, “War Games” from Crosby, Stills & Nash was cut out at the last minute from the 1983 movie and wasn’t used in the film or included on any soundtrack album.
Alongside all the disturbing insanity of 1985’s children’s film/horror nightmare The Peanut Butter Solution was the first ever English language songs performed by the one and only Celine Dion, “Listen to the Magic Man” and “Michael’s Song”.
