Founded in 1991, alt-rock band Dogstar featured the one and only Keanu Reeves on bass along with members Gregg Miller, Bret Demrose and Robert Mailhouse and the group toured and put out two albums before breaking up in 2002.

As part of the trend in the early 2000’s to make more “edgy” animated movies, Fox recruited alt rock band Lit for the theme song of their attempt at a sci-fi/action epic, Titan AE.

Some of the biggest bands of 90’s alt-rock came together for the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack including Butthole Surfers, Crash Test Dummies and The Proclaimers.
