One of the many ninja actionfests that Cannon Films put out in the 80s, American Ninja stars Michael Dudikoff as Pvt. Joe Armstrong, an Army soldier and secret ninja who discovers a black-market arms dealer and his army of evil ninjas are operating in the Philippines near where he’s stationed and he becomes determined to stop them.
Closing out the bloody and ridiculous carnage of Maniac Cop 2, composer Jay Chattaway and Peter Levin delivered the wonderfully cheesy “Maniac Cop Rap” over the end credits, which basically goes over the entire premise of the series with funky beats and ridiculous rhymes.
