The first big day for new DVDs and Blu-Rays in 2019 has horror TV with Castle Rock and The Purge, Hell Fest, cult classics Judgement Night and Stay Tuned on Blu-Ray for the first time and more.

The final weekend of October 2018 cemented it as the highest grossing October of all time as Halloween, A Star is Born and Venom remained a strong top 3 while most of the new releases didn’t fare very well.

The latest actionfest from Gerard Butler hit theaters this weekend along with the return of Johnny English, the directorial debut of Jonah Hill and the latest faith-based drama.

It couldn’t quite top Venom’s record-breaking October opening but Halloween took the second highest grossing October opening weekend record as well as the second-best R rated horror opening of all time and the best opening ever for the slasher genre.
