With the Oscars this weekend, it’s time once again for Everything Action’s Kick Ass Awards, where we celebrate the best, worst and weirdest in the world of movies for the previous year.

An American Tail is still one of the most beloved and best-remembered movies from animation legend Don Bluth and one of the reasons for its longevity is its iconic song “Somewhere Out There”, which was a massive radio hit and earned two Grammy awards along with being nominated for an Oscar. Fievel Goes West brought the song back along with a new song, the less remembered “Dreams to Dream”.

Robert Altman’s magnum opus dramedy Nashville has over an hour of musical performances but Keith Carradine’s “I’m Easy” is the one that won Best Original Song at the Oscars while also becoming a radio hit on the Billboard charts.
