Well, it’s the first weekend in October and it’s not a very good weekend for movies.  The only bright spot is Ed Harris’ Appaloosa is in wide release.  The rest of the movies are, well, see for yourself.

Appaloosa

Starring: Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen, Jeremy Irons, Renee Zelleweger

Freshness: 74%

Critic Consensus: “A traditional genre western, Appaloosa sets itself apart with smart psychology, an intriguing love triangle, and good chemistry between the leads.”

Flash of Genius

Starring: Greg Kinnear, Lauren Graham

Freshness: 69%

Critic Consensus: “The touching underdog story of a single guy against a massive corporation, Flash of Genius is a well-paced and well-written tale with a standout performance by star Greg Kinnear.”

Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist

Starring: Michael Cera, Kat Dennings

Freshness: 66%

Critic Consensus: “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist combines a pair of charming leads, the classic New York backdrop, and a sweet soundtrack.”  Yeah, well I get a very “Hipster, Indie” vibe that makes me think of Juno and shudder, next.

Blindness

Religulous

Starring: Bill Maher

That’s it this week,  If you’re going to see anything I would say go see Appaloosa because it looks bad-ass.  And, if you go see Beverly Hills Chihuahua please do us a favor and ram your head into the wall a bunch of times because you’re an idiot.
