80′s remakes keep coming as the trailer for Summer 2011′s The Smurfs came out this week. It’s just a teaser trailer but you do get to see how the Smurfs look all CGI’d. The movie stars Neil Patrick Harris, Hank Azaria, Jayma Mays and Sofia Vergara on screen and the voice cast includes Fred Armisen, Anton Yelchin and Alan Cumming. Arch nemesis Gargamel chases the Smurfs from their village and into the middle of Central Park. I’m sure this is going to be your standard kid friendly summer movie like Alvin and the Chipmunks but there were some really bizarre things going on with the Smurfs that could potentially be ripe for jokes, like the fact that Gargamel either wants to eat the Smurfs or turn them into gold, the fact that Gargamel created Smurfette to lure the Smurfs into his traps or how about the whole zombie Smurf story from the comics? Oh, well, at least we have Robot Chicken for that stuff. Check out the teaser below.
