If you are a gore hound, the new Evil Dead should immediately be on the top of your most anticipated movie list for this year. The amount and various types of violence in this new, full, red band trailer is absolutely insane. It makes the original seem kind of quaint and tame by comparison. The new Evil Dead follows the basic plot of the original, a group of friends head to a cabin in the woods, find a creepy old book, read from it, and demonic forces start possessing them one by one. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are producing the remake and Spanish director Fede Alvarez is directing. My biggest qualm is that there doesn’t seem to be a hero in the remake as simultaneously goofy and bad ass as Ash but it looks like it will deliver in terms of insane violence, at the very least.
