CBS actually has a surprisingly fun reboot/sequel to a movie right now with Limitless but it doesn’t seem like the new Rush Hour is going to continue that trend. Brett Ratner is producing after directing the original trilogy and it seems like either the pilot or most of the first season is going to be following the basic premise of the first Rush Hour, with a case involving stolen Chinese artifacts bringing Hong Kong cop Lee (John Foo) to Los Angeles and getting paired with a loose cannon LAPD detective, Carter (Justin Hires). The whole thing feels pretty watered down, with none of the fast and funny back and forth between the leads and limp recreations of action sequences from the movie. We can give our full judgment on March 31st when the series premieres but for now you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
