With the latest (and apparently excellent) Stephen King adaptation IT hitting theaters this weekend, Netflix decided to drop the trailer for their upcoming spin on a King story with Gerald’s Game. Directed by Oculus and Hush director Mike Flanagan (who also somehow transformed the Ouija prequel into a decent horror movie), Gerald’s Game stars Bruce Greenwood and Carla Gugino as Gerald and Jessie Burlingame, a married couple who head to a remote cabin and try to spice up their love life with some handcuffs but Gerald suffers a heart attack and dies, leaving Jessie trapped in bed with no one around for miles to help. The longer she goes on, she starts hearing and seeing things and remembers some hidden secrets from her past. A great many people considered Gerald’s Game unfilmable but Flanagan seems up to the task and Gugino and Greenwood are always great. The movie is out on Netflix on September 29th and you can check out the trailer below.
I’m like the J. Jonah Jameson of Everything Action, writing and editing and constantly demanding pictures of Spider-Man.
