Darren McCord (Jean Claude Van-Damme)
Sudden Death (1995)
Webster’s Dictionary defines the word “great” as “ remarkable in magnitude, degree, or effectiveness”. And an example of this definition is the hockey mascot fight from “Sudden Death”. Jean Claude plays Darren, a former fire-fighter who now handles security for the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. While the Penguins face off in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup, Darren must save not only his children – but the vice president of the United States from the clutches of Powers Boothe. One scene finds Van-Damme getting into an epic kitchen fight with a baddie in a penguin costume. Silly? Yes. Ridiculous? Yes. But great? Most definitely.
