- Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie and Nick Offerman join Lego movie: Ferrell will play the main villain, President Business, Neeson will play his main henchman, Bad Cop, Brie will play a member of the heroic team and Offerman will play a pirate.
- Screen writer Michael Arndt writing Star Wars: Episode VII: Arndt previously wrote Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine, both nominated for Best Screenplay Oscars.
- Mark Wahlberg starring in Transformers 4: Originally dismissed as Internet rumor, Michael Bay has now confirmed that Mark Wahlberg will be taking over for Shia Laboeuf in Transformers 4. Wahlberg is currently working with Bay on his heist movie, Pain & Gain.
- David Yates directing Tarzan for WB: The director of the last chunk of Harry Potter movies is signed on to direct a new version of Tarzan for Warner Bros. A short list of actors who could play the jungle hero is Henry Cavill, Charlie Hunnam, Alexander Skarsgard and Tom Hardy.
- Top Gun 2 delayed, Top Gun 3D still being decided on: Not surprisingly, with the passing of Tony Scott earlier this year, Top Gun 2 is delayed indefinitely at Paramount. The studio is also trying to figure out when would be a good time to re-release Top Gun in 3D, as it’s apparently all set to go.
- Dominic Cooper joins Need for Speed: Howard Stark joins Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul in the adaptation of the EA racing series. The plot will follow Paul’s character, who is wrongfully sent to prison following the death of his best friend during a race and seeks revenge upon his release.
