Musical Montage: Michael Jackson “Ben”

When you have a movie about a swarm of killer rats, you obviously need a tender, heartfelt theme song, which is how we got Michael Jackson performing “Ben” for the movie of the same name.  A sequel to Willard, where a man used a swarm of killer rats to get revenge on the people who wronged him.  Ben picks ups with the leader of the rats, Ben, becoming friends with a young boy with a heart condition and using his swarm of minions to protect the boy from bullies and other threats.  It’s basically something like Stuart Little or Runaway Ralph, but with more horrific murder.  The song Ben was originally going to be performed by Donny Osmond but Michael Jackson was given it and it became his first solo #1 hit.  Check out Michael performing it live below.
