Musical Montage: The Crow

The-Crow-1994-Movie-Direct-Download

One of the many enduring things about 1994’s The Crow is it’s incredible soundtrack that was a staple of many teens growing up in the early 90’s, especially ones who were into the goth scene.  The Cure contributed a new song, Burn, to the soundtrack while Nine Inch Nails, Pantera and Rollins Band provided covers of 80’s and 70’s goth/punk classics from bands like Joy Division and Poison Idea, who, along with The Cure, had a tremendous influence on original comic creator James O’Barr.  Surprisingly, Helmet’s “Milquetoast” seems to be the only song from the album with a tie-in music video, which features the band intercut with scenes from the movie.  The soundtrack hit number one on the Billboard Hot 200 in 1994 and you can check out some of the songs from the album below.
